It is reported from the recent SIP conference on summary and citation of new countryside construction in the year 2007, SIP government has decided to appropriate another 150 million RMB in the year 2008 to build 10 demonstration villages of new countryside. Wang Hinhua, Chairman of Municipal Political Consultative Conference and Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee attended the conference and gave a speech.

Statistics show that in 2007, the rural townships fulfilled a total GDP of 37.1 billion yuan RMB, which increased 36% over the previous year. At present, SIP has built 7 demonstration villages (or communities) of new countryside at municipal level, and another 10 will be added this year.
