IC China 2008, the 6th China International IC Exposition & Summit forum, is scheduled for September in Suzhou. It is the second time for Suzhou to host the vent. A news release in Shanghai on Feb. 27 announced that preparations are underway at Suzhou Expo Center, and many prestigious manufacturers across the world are prepared to participate in the event.

Semiconductor industry in China has maintained fast growth in recent years, with an annual growth of 24.3% and the total revenue amounted to 125.13 billion RMB. In Suzhou, the sales revenue of IC products reached 24 billion RMB in 2007, which increased by 54.7% over the previous year. A complete industrial chain, ranging from designing and manufacturing to packaging, testing, equipment and materials, has been formed in Suzhou, and the number of IC-related enterprises has risen to over 100.

China International IC Exposition & Summit Forum is the most influential internationalized annual event in China, which covers the entire IC industrial chain, and has been held for 5 times in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Suzhou. The exposition has attracted IC manufacturers from USA, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Israel, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The forum offers an arena for experts in the industry to explore future development.

Speaking of the location of the event, Xu Xiaotian, Secretary-general of China Semiconductor Industrial Association, says that Suzhou Expo Center is a top-notch facility in the Yangtze delta region, capable of hosting the event, and he reveals that there is the possibility that the event may be held in a fixed location in the future.
