Gold Hua Sheng Paper (SIP) Co., Ltd. was recently accorded with the honor of "water-conserving enterprise of Jiangsu Province" through evaluation by the provincial water-conserving office.


Gold Hua Sheng Paper (SIP) Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of the Indonesian-funded Sinar Mas Group in Suzhou Industrial Park with a total investment of US$ 1.3 billion and a land area of 2.8 billion square meters. The Company owns a dock and 100,000kw-thermo power plant and a water work and a sewer treatment plant with a daily capacity of 50,000 tons. In the course of steady improvement of product quality, the Company has spared no efforts in environmental protection in consistent adherence to sustained development through clean production. In June 2006 the Company passed the certification by expers for environment-friendly enterprise of Jiangsu Province. The company has put in funds each year in water-conserving and environment protection technologies.


In Oct. 2003, the Company invested 500,000 RMB in recycling of neutron water, and used the recycled water from sedimentation ponds for irrigating green grounds and cleaning equipement.

To raise the utility rate of water recycling, the Company invested another 5 million RMB in ion transfer of purified water by separate recycling systems, and installed new recycling and treatment systems. Toilet flush is now using recycled water, and emission was reduced by 1,600 tons daily.

The awareness of water conservation is being fostered among all employees. The Company has a water-conserving leading group headed by General Manager Mao Lin to direct the work water conservation. Regular analysis, daily records and rectification plans are made to ensure rational water consumption targets. "Conservation of resources, care for environment" has become the slogan of the company in promoting ecological culture.
