Suzhou Signs US$ 500 Million Contract of Service Outsourcing in India

The delegation of economic and trade promotion from Suzhou gave a presentation on service outsourcing industry on April 4 in Bangalore, the reputed "Silicon Valley of India", attended by over 500 VIP guests from business circles. At the meeting, Wang Rong, Executive Member of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Secretary of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee, made a speech and elaborated on the superior conditions of Suzhou in developing service outsourcing industry, and business opportunities for service outsourcing in the fields of software, R&D, animation, logistics, and enterprise BPO.

Wang told the audience that Suzhou was one the nine major national bases of information industry and the only demonstration base for service outsourcing in China, and that Suzhou was endeavoring to build up a "world office" with a clustered international service outsourcing industry and a contingent of 200,000 employees by the year 2010.


On the visit to Bangalore, the delegation signed a contract on service outsourcing worth US$ 500 million, besides agreements and MOU on cooperation with Indian businesses in 9 projects.


During the visit to Bangalore, Wang Rong and the delegation visited the software park, international science park, and some of the first-class software enterprises like Infosys, etc. Wang was also interviewed by Indian media.
