Mermeiren (Suzhou) Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. celebrated the operation commencement of the Phase-2 facilities on May 16, attended by Mr. Marc Pecsteen, Consul General of Belgium in Shanghai, Chen Guang, Vice-director of China Disabled Support Equipment Center, Lu Qi, Director of Municipal Bureau of Pharmaceutical Supervision, Zhu Shuigen, Deputy Secretary-general of Municipal Federation of the Handicapped, Yang Jianzhong, Vice-chairman of Sipac, Chen Dong?an, Secretary of Shengpu Township Party Committee, Xing Quannan, Shengpu Township Governor, Dong Lei, Director of Shangpu Township Investment Promotion Center, and leaders and VIPs concerned.

Mermeiren (Suzhou) Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., located at Xingpu Rd,. Shengpu Township, SIP, was invested by the Belgian N.V. Vermeiren Corporation with an investment of USD 3.30. N.V. Corporation was founded in 1957 as a manufacturer of wheelchairs, household medical auxiliary equipment, and sick beds. The Phase-2 workshops of the company, upon commencement of operation, will double the current output of 30,000 wheelchairs to 60,000, while turning out 5,000 units of other equipment (like walking aid and electrical chairs), and other high-quality products.

On the day of the opening ceremony, Vermeiren Suzhou Company donated 100 wheelchairs to the earthquake areas in Sichuan with a value of 300,000 yuan RMB.
