SIP Animation Public Technological Service Platform, located in Suzhou International Science Park, held a ceremony to mark the commencement of operation with the successful completion of the first phase of the project through a year and half?s efforts.

The platform is invested by SIP Administrative Committee and built and operated by Suzhou Software Testing Center to service the actual needs of the local animation industry.


The first phase of the platform project, given functions in animation picture processing, audio and visual post-treatment and other technologies, is among the most advanced in Jiangsu Province. Service items will increase constantly along with the expansion of scale to provide sustained technological support to the fast-growing animation industry of Suzhou.

Animation industry in Suzhou has gained sustained fast development in recent years. On May 27, 2005, Suzhou International Science Park was designated by National Bureau of Broadcasting, Television and Film as "National animation industrial base". By relying on the rich cultural traditions, the fast-growing external-oriented economy, the sound industrial foundation, and adequate service system and supportive policies in the science park, Suzhou has forged an animation industrial chain embracing animation and cartoon creation, game development, mobile added service, personnel training, and financing. In 2007, the animation industry within the science park reaped about 400 million RMB output value, which doubled the figure of 2006. The operation of the newly completed animation platform will further help solve the common issues in capital, technology, and personnel for animation industry, and add new momentum to the sustained growth of the industry.


Over the past year and half, Suzhou Software Testing Center has conducted meticulous investigations and surveys for the construction of the platform, and adapted the advanced experience of other domestic animation public service platform in forming the construction plan of SIP animation public service platform.

At the commencement ceremony, several animation enterprises, including Snail, Hanwen Animation, and Tianyi Animation, signed cooperation agreements with the platform and became the first to benefit from the platform.
