The 2020 Venture Week for International Elites in Suzhou kicked off on July 10, attracting 1,720 talents and 1,822 projects. Statistics show that 49.75% of Venture Week participants have doctoral degrees.
The event sets its main venue at Suzhou International Expo Center and other venues in 10 county-level cities and districts. It will last until July 12.
Since 2009, the Venture Week has been successfully held for 11 consecutive years and 5,773 new projects have been settled in Suzhou. Among them, there are 29 companies with annual sales exceeding 100 million yuan, 12 listed on China’s New Third Board and 2 listed on the A-shares market. And 95% of the projects involve the key emerging industries of Suzhou and 8,504 patents have been authorized. A total of 141 individuals have been included in the country’s major talent introduction projects, 262 in Jiangsu province’s major talent introduction projects, and 506 in the list of “Leading Talents in Innovation and Entrepreneurship” of Gusu district.
The annual Venture Week enjoys high influence and reputation at home and abroad and has played an important role in promoting the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy of Suzhou.
