The 12th Venture Week for International Elites in Suzhou and the 1st Suzhou Scientists’ Day came to a successful conclusion on July 12. The 3-day event saw the signing of 1,581 projects, 46% of which are related to the 4 leading industries in Suzhou such as new-generation information technology and biomedicine.
City leaders Lu Xin, Hong Zongming, Wang Hongsheng and Cheng Huaguo attended the signing ceremony of 10 representative projects.
In recent years, Suzhou has accelerated its construction of a globally competitive talent development environment, focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship development and striving to turn its talent advantages into development advantages. After 11 years of development, the Venture Week has become an important platform for Suzhou to gather talents and integrate resources.
This year’s event attracted a total of 1,720 talents and 1,822 projects. Up to now, 1,581 projects have been contracted to settle in Suzhou, including 1,432 business start-up projects and 149 innovation projects. And 339 of the projects were contracted online.
The opening ceremony of the Venture Week also saw the launch of the 1st Suzhou Scientists’ Day. It featured a series of events, including the 2020 International Scientists Suzhou Summit and the City Innovation Ecology Forum, which were attended by top-notch scientists from home and abroad and helped attract high-quality projects. During the event, 33 academician projects have been signed to settle in Suzhou.
