Lotus flowers are blooming in the Lotus Pond Moonlight Wetland Park in Suzhou’s Xiangcheng District.
The wetland park, covering an area of about 2,000 mu (nearly 134 hectares), is the largest lotus-themed city wetland park in China, which integrates lotus culture, leisure, sightseeing, popular science education and wetland protection.
The park is home to more than 500 kinds of aquatic plants such as lotus and water lilies. “The next two months are the perfect time to admire the blooming lotus,” said a person in charge of the park.
The wetland park will hold the 13th annual Jiangnan Lotus Festival from July to August this year.
