The Changshu Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce was established on Sept. 27. It is a non-profit social organization, formed voluntarily by enterprises established by overseas Chinese, returned overseas Chinese and their families, compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao and returned overseas students in Changshu.
At the inauguration ceremony, the Changshu Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with 5 overseas Chinese business organizations including the Italian Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the Atlanta Chinese Chamber of Commerce in the United States, and the Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, in addition to a financial support agreement reached with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Changshu Branch. It has hired 8 expert legal advisers.
Changshu is one of the hometowns of overseas Chinese in Jiangsu Province. According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 20,000 returned overseas Chinese and their families, overseas Chinese, and compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao.
