A circular economy industrial park will be jointly built by Jiangsu Environmental Protection Group (JSEP) and SND Group, according to a strategic cooperation agreement signed by the Suzhou New District (SND) Management Committee and JSEP on Jan. 11.
Xu Kunlin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee, and Wang Tianqi, director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, attended the signing ceremony.
JSEP is a provincial strategic environmental protection industrial group. The new agreement serves as a new starting point for comprehensive cooperation between JSEP and SND. The two sides will join hands in promoting the effective integration of ecological environmental governance and environmental protection industry.
At the ceremony, JSEP signed a cooperation agreement with SND Group to jointly set up a company to conduct the project of building a circular economy industrial park based on the EOD model in SND’s Suzhou Science and Technology Town. Covering an area of 385 mu (about 25.7 hectares), the project is planned to build a 200,000-ton underground water purification plant and an ecological park. The two sides will invest about 5 billion yuan to build the industrial park into Jiangsu’s first EOD pilot demonstration project and a national-level demonstration project.
Fang Binbin, secretary of the Party committee and chairman of Jiangsu Environmental Protection Group, city leaders Yu Xingnan and Lu Chunyun, and leaders of the relevant departments of SND and Suzhou attended the signing ceremony.
