A mobilization meeting was held on Feb. 22 to call for greater efforts to promote the construction of Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone (Wujiang ETDZ), which strives to be listed among the top 30 national ETDZs in the near future.
The year 2020 marked the 10th anniversary of the designation of Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone as a national ETDZ. In 2020, its regional GDP and general public budget revenue increased by 5.3% and 6% respectively to 53.26 billion yuan and 6.393 billion yuan. Companies such as BOE and CSG signed a number of high-quality projects, BOZHON and Maxwell Technologies developed into “Little Giant” enterprises, and Cybrid Technologies, HICHAIN logistics and Shihua New Materials went public.
According to the “Wujiang District’s Three-year (2021-2023) Action Plan for Promoting the Digital Transformation of the Manufacturing Industry”, Wujiang ETDZ will complete the digital transformation of 350 industrial enterprises above designated size in 2021. It plans to complete more than 200 digital transformation projects in 2022 and in 2023 each. By 2023, the added value of the core industries of the digital economy is expected to reach more than 20 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of over 16%.
