At a ceremony held in Kunshan city on Sept. 16, a total of 36 major Taiwan-funded projects were signed, with a total investment of 51.6 billion yuan. Kunshan, a booming city with frequent economic and cultural exchanges with Taiwan Province, has given strong support to the transformation and development of Taiwan-funded enterprises. From January to August this year, Taiwan-funded industrial enterprises above designated size in Kunshan completed an output value of 343.32 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.5%, accounting for 53.4% of the city’s total. The 36 projects signed this time cover fields such as new displays, new materials, and biomedicine. They will surely inject fresh and strong impetus into Kunshan’s efforts to further strengthen the industrial chain, enlarge industrial clusters and improve the industrial ecology.
Chen Gao, secretary-general of the Suzhou Municipal Government, attended the event.
