The year 2021 marks the start of the China-South Korea Cultural Exchange Year and also the 25th anniversary of the establishment of sister-city relations between Suzhou and Jeonju.
Suzhou and South Korea’s Jeonju, both of which are historical and cultural cities, became sister cities in March 1996.
Suzhou has held the “International Day” event for 3 consecutive years. This year’s event is co-sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Suzhou Municipal People’s Government, the Information Office of the Suzhou Municipal People’s Government, Suzhou Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee and Korean Cultural Center (Shanghai), and undertaken by iSuzhou, the on-line service platform for foreigners in Suzhou. It is designed to showcase the achievements of exchanges between Suzhou and South Korea in various fields such as economy, trade, culture, education and sports through theme exhibitions, interactive activities and music performances, so as to further deepen the friendship between Suzhou and South Korea.
