The 9th “Zu Chongzhi Cup” Kunshan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was launched recently. It will last until July, 2025.
This year’s competition, focusing on the two key industrial areas of electronic information and equipment manufacturing, covers six sectors, i.e. new display, new intelligent manufacturing, new medical treatment, new energy, new materials, and new digital solutions, aiming to help promote precise matching of supply and demand of talents and projects.
The competition also encourages social organizations to provide services concerning entrepreneurship guidance, technology achievements transfer, financial support, policy consultation, legal aid and staff recruitment for the participating teams. Serving as a platform for promoting business match-making, project incubation, and technological achievements transformation, the event will help Kunshan City fully leverage its technological, capital and market advantages to create a talent highland and accelerate the development of industrial innovation clusters.
At this year’s competition, the winners of the selection trials may each receive a project subsidy of up to 600,000 yuan and a settling-in allowance of up to 600,000 yuan. The outstanding individuals and teams who win in the finals can each receive up to 2 million yuan of start-up funding and a settling-in allowance of 600,000 yuan.
The winning projects will be included in a “white list” that are eligible for financing support. Qualified individuals and enterprises can each obtain bank loans of up to 3 and 10 million yuan respectively. The winning projects in the grand finals will be given priority by the Kunshan Angel Investment Fund, which can receive an investment of up to 10 million yuan.
The nine-month-long “Zu Chongzhi Cup” Kunshan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has been held annually since 2017. It has attracted a large number of talents and sci-tech projects to settle in Kunshan.
