The Lion Grove Garden is located 23 the Yuanlin Road, Suzhou City. It was listed as National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the State Council in 2006, and in 2000, as the supplement to Suzhou Classical Gardens of World Cultural Heritage, it was recorded on the list of the world heritage by UESCO.
The Lion Grove Garden covers an area of 11,140 square meters. Within the tall walls around, the twisted corridors encircle the entire garden. In the center, the pool bends its way, flowing and staying still at the same time. Among the trees are hidden houses and pagodas, which are spotted by people from time to time. Rockeries and valleys wind, with hanging splashing waterfalls. Grotesque rocks and stones are in great variety of shapes, resembling dancing lions. The garden enables one to feel the charm of mountains and forest as well as a sense of Buddhist atmosphere. The main architectures within the garden are the Yanyu Hall, the Little Square Hall, the Zhibai House, the Ancient Five Pines Garden, Mountain-in-view Tower, Lotus Hall, Genuine Amusement Pavilion, Stone Boat, Hidden Fragrance and Scarce Shadows House, Pavilion of Fying Cascade, Wenmei Pavilion, Double Fragrance Hall, Pavilion of Fan, Pavilion of Wen Tianxiang Tablet, Pavilion of Imperial tablet, the Lixue Hall, Bamboo Pavilion, Cloud lying Room, the Mid-Lake Pavilion, etc.
