The Master of the Nets Garden is located 11 Kuojiatou Lane, Daichengqiao Road, Suzhou. It was listed as National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the State Council in 1982, and in 1997, it was recorded on the list of the world heritage by UESCO.
The garden is a typical residence-combined private garden. The residential quarters are a linear sequence of three courts. From the entry gate one reaches the sedan hall, the Wanjuan Hall (Ten Thousand Scroll Hall) and Shexiu Tower in a row, lined up along the middle line. The main hall, Wanjuan Hall is tall and spacious, with fine tasted decoration. Brick tower in front of the hall are carving delicate, exquisite, the best piece in Jiangnan and has a very high cultural and artistic value. The residential part follows strict rules. Although the space is not large, it is distinguished, forming a contrast with the beautiful and reserved landscape. Garden part of the nets garden area is not large, about 0.47 hectares (including residential housings), composed of main, and auxiliary scenic areas. Nets garden features water scene. The space dimension scale is in perfect ratio, especially distinctive as being compact, concise. The nets garden is the representative work of medium-sized gardens in Suzhou.
