The Mountain Villa with Embracing Beauty is located 262 Jingde Road, Suzhou. It was listed as National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the State Council in 1982, and in 1997, it was recorded on the list of the world heritage by UESCO.
The Mountain Villa with Embracing Beauty was built in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It covers an area of 2,179 square meters. The garden landscape is given priority to mountains, and water as a supplement, with few buildings. The rockery piled by Ge Family is a master piece. Occupying an area of no more than half a Mu (unit of area in ancient China), the garden demonstrates thousands of rock mountains and valleys. Walking around the mountains, one can be feasted with different views every step he or she takes. The main peek protrudes southeast, and the minor peak is arched northwest. The spool encircles it and green trees cast shade on it. On the Mountain there are steep paths, caves, valleys, cliffs, flying rock pieces, and precipice, as variable as natural landscape. The main peak is 7.2 meters high, the valley 12 meters long, and the path over 60 meters long. The path circles around the mountain like a high road rising into the clouds and endowed with a myriad of eye-catching views. Rockery piling of Ge Family takes use of “texture making with big axe", which is concise and forceful. An artificial rockery thus made has varying heights, but rigorous structure, as if a complete product of nature.
